The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun (code DED), about 20–25 km from Rishikesh — roughly a 45-minute drive. There are frequent flights from Delhi, and connections from other metros. A private cab from the airport into Rishikesh starts around ₹899; shared cabs and buses are cheaper but slower.
Rishikesh has its own station — Yog Nagari Rishikesh (YNRK), opened in 2021 — but it's served by relatively few trains. For speed and frequency, take a train to Haridwar Junction (about 22 km away), which is very well connected to Delhi and beyond, then continue by cab or bus. Fares range from a few hundred rupees in sleeper class to around ₹1,500 in AC.
Rishikesh is about 240 km from Delhi. The Delhi–Dehradun Expressway has transformed this drive — roughly 2.5–3 hours to Dehradun, then about 45 minutes on to Rishikesh, so around 3.5 hours door to door in good conditions. A private cab from Delhi starts near ₹2,640 (app-based intercity rides run a little higher); Volvo and ordinary buses run frequently from ₹209 up to about ₹1,019 for AC seaters.
